Whitman Cluster and MCPS Advocacy
The BHES Whitman Cluster and Montgomery Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) Representatives collaborate with their counterparts from other schools to advocate on issues impacting the Whitman Cluster and MCPS. To this end, the Whitman Cluster periodically corresponds and meets with MCPS and the Board of Education. Representatives from the Whitman Cluster also testify at public hearings before the MCPS Board of Education and Montgomery County Council on MCPS’s Operating and Capital Improvement Budgets. For the past several years, this testimony has focused on reducing class sizes, increasing support staff, and construction of new facilities (e.g., Pyle and Whitman additions).
Last school year, BHES PTA Representatives worked with counterparts from other schools on various topics including school bus driver staffing, school improvement planning, boundary study, and shared information and resources on school events planning.
For more information about Whitman Cluster and MCPS Advocacy please contact the BHES PTA Cluster Representatives.
